Stats from Cold Lake Animal Care and Control show a low level of pets that are actually licensed in the city. They updated council last week, and found that out of the over 200 cats and dogs that have been brought in since the start of the year, only 15 percent of dogs and 11 percent of cats were licensed, even though they’ve been free all year long. Mayor Craig Copeland says having a lience is the easiest way to have pets returned if they go missing, and are brought into the centre. He’s encouraging people to take advantage of the free program.
