The MD of Bonnyville has approved their budget, and it includes the construction of a new Cherry Grove fire hall, but also a 2.21% tax hike. Reeve Barry Kalinski is calling it a modest hike, equalling an average of just shy of $32 on the average residential tax bill. The operating budget comes in at just over $56.8 million, while capital is set at just over $16.3 million. The fire hall at Cherry Grove has been given approximately $5.5 million of that.
